The UT Tyler baseball team will be hosting Senior Day on Saturday at Irwin Field as the Patriots meet UT Permian Basin in a Lone Star Conference doubleheader.

The Patriots will host a pair of ceremonies as they celebrate their seniors in the program. Approximately 25 minutes prior to game one (3 p.m. start), UT Tyler will hold a graduation ceremony for those players that will be getting their degrees this semester.

Between the two games of the doubleheader, the Patriots will recognize six seniors who will be closing out their playing careers with the Patriots following this season. The second game is slated to start at 6 p.m.

Seniors include: Hayden Clearman (outfielder/Argyle/Abilene Christian transfer), Jordan Ardoin (infielder/Pine Prairie, Louisiana/LSU-Alexander transfer), Ethan Bedgood (catcher, first baseman/Sherman), Nathan Carriere (outfielder/Maringouin, Louisiana/Lamar transfer), Austin Ochoa (pitcher, designated hitter/Refugio/UTSA transfer) and Logan Henderson (pitcher/Baytown/Coastal Bend College).

With just two LSC series left for the Patriots, they hold the number four spot in the latest LSC standings. The top four teams will host a first round best-of-three series in the opening weekend (May 3-5) of the Lone Star Conference Tournament.

West Texas A&M (28-8) holds the top spot, and have a two-game lead on Lubbock Christian (26-10). Angelo State (24-12) comes in at number three, with the Patriots fourth (24-16). Just behind them is UT Permian Basin (22-16, 20-16), who is currently battling to host a first round series. Texas A&M-Kingsville (21-19), Arkansas-Fort Smith (18-18), and St. Edward’s (18-18) currently round out the top eight teams.

The series began on Friday with a single game at 7 p.m. and will conclude on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Patriots then play their first non-conference game of the season when they host No. 13 Southern Arkansas at 4 p.m. Tuesday. It will be Youth Day.
