LINDALE — A business is set to close its brick-and-mortar location in downtown Lindale.

The storefront of The Plant Collective, which opened in June 2023, will soon close. Owner Ciara Cunningham said in an announcement via Facebook she will move to doing pop-up events full-time rather than operating the storefront, located at 112 Main St.

While Cunningham was raising her children as a stay-at-home mother, she discovered a love for houseplants.

“It just makes you feel good when you can keep something alive and watch it grow, just like your kids,” Cunningham said in a July 2023 interview with ETX View Magazine. “Anytime I get a new leaf or something, it’s like a big celebration.”

Soon, Cunningham turned her love into a business.

“I have enjoyed being in downtown Lindale and getting to know my sweet customers that have become friends,” Cunningham said in the post.

However, as her customer base has grown, she said pop-up events are the future for The Plant Collective.

An exact closing date has not been announced.

Cunningham encouraged the community to come out and shop, as she will be offering sales and also sell display shelves and furniture in the store.

She asks customers to spend their gift cards now, but said she will honor them at her pop-up events as well.

While the physical storefront is no longer going to operate once it’s closed, Cunningham is excited to continue her business in a new way.

“I am excited for this next chapter of my business and appreciate the continued support,” Cunningham said.
