BBB announces 2024 Awards for Excellence winners

Better Business Bureau Serving Central East Texas (BBB) on Sunday presented the televised production of the 2024 BBB Awards for Excellence.

BBB presented the BBB Awards for Excellence to six companies and one nonprofit organization who display honor and integrity in all aspects of their operations; toward their employees, vendors, customers, and within their community.
“The Better Business Bureau has been helping to create healthy communities for over 100 years. We do this by contributing to a robust and healthy marketplace by supporting trustworthy organizations and ethical businesses practices and by directing consumers to companies whose goal it is to do the right thing,” said Mechele Agbayani, President and CEO of BBB Central East Texas. “The BBB Awards for Excellence brings recognition and celebrates East Texas businesses and charities who also support BBB core values, and who go above and beyond for their employees, their clients, and their communities.”
Forty organizations were nominated for the 2024 BBB Award of Excellence.
The recipient for the BBB Award for Excellence in the Small Business Category is Pro-Tech Services A/C and Heating. Other nominees were Allstar Water Well Service, LLC, East Texas Elite Exteriors, Humes Inspections & Foundation Company, Lindsey Odom Insurance, O’Brien Steel & Supply LLC, The Holloway Partnership and Tyler Kung Fu and Fitness.
The recipient for the BBB Award for Excellence in the Mid-Size Business Category is John Gentry Integra Insurance Services. Other nominees were Discount Pools & Spas, Inc., Dream Maker Tyler., Gecko Pest Control, LLC, Goodin Moving Solutions, Jordan Roofing and Construction, LLC, and Spartan Exteriors, LLC.
The recipient for the BBB Award for Excellence in the Large Business Category is Meadowlake Senior Living. Other nominees were Benjamin Franklin Plumbing – Northeast Texas, Burns Commercial Properties, LLC, K&L Contractors, Inc., Kelly Community Federal Credit Union, Origin Bank, Satterwhite Log Homes and Simple Custodial Services.

The recipient for the BBB Award for Excellence in the Veteran-Owned Business Category Air Chandler Heating and Cooling
Other nominees for the Veteran-Owned Business Category were: Air Chandler Heating and Cooling, Hex 6 and Co. Diesel Repair, LLC, and L&L Asphalt Corporation.
The recipient for the BBB Award for Excellence in the Minority-Owned Business Category is Mikoto Ramen Bar and Sushi. MBS Crafts Studio, LLC was also nominated.
BBB also presented the BBB Spark Award. The Spark Award honors eligible social entrepreneurs, startup founders and new business owners who cultivate the Three C’s of Trust: Character, Culture and Community. Business owners under the age of 35 or who have businesses which are fewer than three years old are eligible.
The recipient for the BBB Spark Award is River’s Handyman Services. Other nominees were Ace Handyman Services of Tyler, Chelsea’s Cleaning Service, Coating Experts & Consultants, LLC, MW Construction Services, LLC, Signet Slabs, and Texas Organics.
The recipient for the BBB Award for Excellence in the Nonprofit Category was announced as Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County.
Other nominees for the Nonprofit Category included Champions for Children, Christian Women’s Job Corps of Tyler, and Mentoring Alliance.
This year’s sponsors were Stonewater Roofing, Childress Wealth Management Team, AVCO Roofing, The Genecov Group, Landmark Title, Henry and Peters, Income Solutions Wealth Management, Pets and Friends, Texas Bank and Trust, Crystal Blue Pools, and Tyler Junior College.
