LONGVIEW — Pat Frase was welcomed into heaven on January 21, 2024, to share eternal bliss with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ and God the Father. Pat was born in Delta County on September 18, 1936.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mildred Smith, and her brothers Grady Michael Smith and James Smith. She is survived by her loving husband, Leland Frase, and her loving children, Greg Moore, Michelle Moore, and Larry Frase with wife Debra. Surviving grandchildren are Scott Frase and wife Brittany, Laura Catalano and husband Phil, Kevin Frase and Austin Moore. She is also survived by five adorable great-grandchildren.
Pat graduated from East Delta High School as valedictorian in 1954. She attended Tyler Junior College where she was an Apache Belle, was a College Beauty and in Honor Society. She received a B.S. from Stephen F. Austin, where she was in Honor Society, was a College Beauty and graduated in 1957. She received an M.S. and post-graduate degrees from East Texas in Commerce. In public schools, she served as a teacher, educational diagnostician, supervisor, elementary principal. She retired from Pine Tree ISD as Assistant Superintendent of Personnel and Administration. Pat belonged to numerous professional and social organizations during her lifetime.
Pat married her loving husband, Leland, in 1991, and they spent many years traveling, playing golf and enjoying time spent with their dear family. Pat especially enjoyed playing Mah Jongg and spending time with her Mah Jongg friends.
After moving to Tyler, Pat became a member of Marvin United Methodist Church. She enjoyed occasionally teaching Sunday School class for her Pairs and Parents class at the church.
Pat grew up as a Baptist but spent many years as a Presbyterian in Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Longview where she served as an ordained elder and taught Sunday School to all ages.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 PM at Marvin Methodist Church. Memorial gifts may be made to Marvin Methodist Church at 300 W. Erwin Street, Tyler, Texas 75702.
