- FT Le Hub is a shared workspace for creative and business-minded people. It serves as a boutique/resale where you can buy or sell the latest fashion.
FLINT — Since she was old enough to put a thread through a needle, Beverly Thompson has had a passion for sewing. From quilts to dresses, she is always excited to create something.
“My mom taught me how to sew at an early age and that’s where it came from,” Thompson said. “I love sewing and I love creating and she just really instilled all of that talent and that gift into me.”

Now, she has turned her creativity and passion into a hub of creativity for others, with a shared workspace called LT Le Hub in Flint.
“We’re opening up this place here for different people that have visions that have dreams to bring their creativity to life,” Thompson said. “It’s an opportunity for you to really try and build your craft here and let the people know what you do.”
Locals who make jewelry, hair accessories and clothing are invited to FT Le Hub to showcase their work. Le Hub will also offer sewing workshops, a design studio and even space to do a podcast.
“We wanted to let the community know that just because you have a skill and you don’t really have a brick and mortar or something like that doesn’t mean that you can’t be productive and give back to the community,” Thompson said.
From Bible studies to a book club to meetings, Le Hub also offers a private meeting space, which can hold between 15 to 20 people.
On Jan. 5, Tyler Metro Chamber officiated the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for FT Le Hub, which is located at 10692 FM 346 W in Flint.

“Ms. Beverly Thompson is phenomenal,” said Sandra Burns, executive director of Tyler Metro Chamber of Commerce. “She’s an amazing woman, very positive and is very encouraging to people. I think she just really has a heart for this new workspace concept. She wants everybody to have opportunities.”
While the shared workspace isn’t necessarily a new concept — as they are often found in larger cities — for places like Flint, it is an innovative place.
“I think that this little hub will give people opportunities to be able to have this workspace and collaboration and possible partnerships with some other businesses that are in this hub,” Burns said.
Le Hub is designed to not only bring out the creativity of people but also to provide a safe and supportive environment for professionals and artists. It also offers Christian counseling for personal healing and services that include business planning, wellness coaching and much more.
“This is something I’ve been thinking about for a long time,” Thompson said. “I have my own alterations business — Finishing Touches — and wanted to expand on the creativity that I know this community has to offer. I really wanted a place where it can be a space for creative people. And I’m so glad it’s here.”
Thompson credits her husband Weldon and her daughter, Donà Isaiah — who also had a hand in designing the store — for helping and pushing her along the way.
“I’m just very appreciative of their efforts, and I thank God for the opportunity to be able to do what I’m doing because I truly love what I’m doing,” Thompson said. “I can’t wait to see what creativity develops here.”
