Chapel Hill ISD wants its high school football players to know one thing: The community is incredibly proud of the team’s accomplishments.
The Bulldogs traveled to Arlington to play at AT&T Stadium for the Class 4A Division I Championship Game. While the 26-0 loss wasn’t what the team hoped for, district officials say the Bulldogs are still winners.
“Chapel Hill ISD’s pride for our football team reaching the state championship is immeasurable,” said Belén Casillas, director of communications for the district.
Holding blue-and-gold signs above their heads and flooding social media with encouraging comments, Chapel Hill residents showed great support for the Bulldogs on Friday.
“The community’s reaction reflects admiration and appreciation for the team’s journey,” Casillas said. “Despite the loss, the entire community stands united in celebrating the Bulldogs’ achievement in making it to state.”
Casillas said Chapel Hill ISD wants the team to know their dedication and hard work brought immense pride to the district.
“While the outcome may not have been what we hoped for, remember that your journey to the state championship is a symbol of triumph,” she said. “Hold your heads high, for you’ve made a mark, and the entire community stands behind you with unwavering support. Your achievements resonate far beyond the scoreboard. Go, Bulldogs!”
