Christmas is just around the corner and many families in need in East Texas are looking for some extra assistance this holiday season. Every year organizations come together to help low-income families with their children’s Christmas gifts.

USPS Operation Santa, any USPS office. The post office receives thousands of letters from children to Santa; by adopting a letter with USPS Operation Santa, you can help holiday wishes come true for a child or a whole family. Information: www.uspsoperationsanta.com/ .

Hiway 80 Family Christmas Giveaway, Triumph Village at 12781 State Hwy 64, Tyler. New, unwrapped toys for children ages 0-16 can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The last day is Dec. 8.

JJO Charities Tons of Toys Holiday Drive in Tyler, From Dec. 8 – 11, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Walmart Supercenter, 6801 S Broadway Ave in Tyler. Donate toys and food for those in need. Information: jjocharities.org/tyler/ .

East Texas Locals Bike and Toy Drive, Dec. 2, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Lago Del Pino, 14706 County Rd 1134 in Tyler. Toy and bike drive with a car show.

Salvation Army Tyler’s Angel Tree, Broadway Square Mall, 4601 S Broadway Ave in Tyler. Gifts can be brought to the location outside of J.C. Penney or to the Salvation Army headquarters. All donations must be made by Dec. 9.

Mercy Manor: Born Again Thrift Store, 1408 West Marshall Ave. Ste. C in Longview; Everything from apparel to toys and blankets are needed. Donations are accepted between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Information: mercymanor.com/thrift-store .
