JACKSONVILLE — A funeral service for Bobbie Jowell Nolley, 88, is scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, November 3, 2023, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Eric Johnson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Pierce’s Chapel Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville and family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Bobbie was born on February 13, 1935, to Travis and Alvalyn (Coats) Jowell in Jacksonville and went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2023. Bobbie was a longtime servant in the classroom. She had a passion for teaching students and had a great influence on the lives of the next generation. Bobbie was a living sacrifice as she poured into the lives of her family as well. She adored her husband Frazier of 67 years. She welcomed the challenges of life and addressed them with wisdom and genuine care. This characterized her life as she always sought to meet the needs of those around her with no need for recognition. Her personality was beautifully balanced with a tender heart and strong will. Bobbie was an instrument of God’s righteousness used by Him to reach into the lives of many. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; Travis and Alvalyn Jowell; son, Stan Nolley; granddaughter, Olivia Nolley; and brother, Carroll Dean Jowell.
Left to cherish Bobbie’s memory are her loving husband, Frazier Nolley of Jacksonville; son, Steven Nolley and wife Teri of Flint; and daughter-in-law, Judy Nolley of McKinney. Her sister is Kathy Hood and husband Mike of Jacksonville; and 4 brothers, Neil Jowell of Jacksonville, Eddie Jowell and wife Pam of Palestine, Toney Jowell of Hemphill, and Rex Jowell and wife Connie of Jacksonville. She is also survived by her 2 grandchildren, Trevor Nolley and Alicia Nolley. She will be dearly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.
