The original Bruno’s Pizza location on Vine Avenue in Tyler is set to close.

Popular pizza restaurant Bruno’s Pizza on Vine Street in Tyler is set to close its doors at the end of the year.

Owner Lori Rumbelow said in a Facebook post that she came to the decision after facing issues with labor, insurance, rises in food costs and overall condition of the standalone — “yet iconic” — building.

“I will be closing vine street at the end of the year. I will be focusing on our Old Jacksonville location and I will be putting a lot of faith into my local employees and my family,” Rumbelow said in a Facebook post.

As a result of the upcoming changes, the restaurant has adjusted their hours to Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The second Bruno’s location, located at 15770 Old Jacksonville Hwy., will remain open and is where she plans to focus her efforts.

“It’s time to focus on the future …” Rumbelow said in the post. “… Believe me when I say this is not an easy decision.”

She is thankful to loyal and hardworking employees who have been with the business for years.

Rumbelow said she we will do her best to “keep up the tradition and the great food” the community loves.

“We love our employees and our loyal community,” she said in the post. “It’s just a new chapter for (Bruno’s).”

The original Bruno’s location has been known for its homemade pizza and Italian style dishes since 1976.
