- Students at Pure Excellence Training Academy and CPRwithJOY demonstrate CPR in a class. The academy recently moved to its new location and is set to offer additional classes.
Pure Excellence Training Academy is making big moves — including the one to its new location. The one-year-old business is owned by Keshia Neal who also owns and operates CPRwithJOY and Chara Consulting & Training Solutions.
The business, which currently offers Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training classes, moved to its new location in September and will soon be offering phlebotomy tech, medication aide and IV certification classes, according to Neal.

“We want to be able to offer the community a diversified choice of medical certification classes in the area,” Neal said.
“We are unique in that we focus on ensuring our students truly have a life changing experience from our classes,” she said. “Whether it is a CPR class or CNA class it will be a life changing experience. CPRwithJOY currently has more than 200 5-Star Google reviews because of our students.”
Neal said she started the businesses out of a passion to help others.
“I wanted to make a difference in my community and be a help to those around me that are in need. I want to help the single parent change their career and their family’s life for the better,” she said. “I want to be the resource that God uses because He is the ultimate source. I’m blessed to be the vessel He decided to use.”
“Every time I teach a class, whether it’s the life-saving skills of CPR or a CNA class, I know I’m making an impact and imprint on someone’s life,” Neal said. “That within itself keeps me going.”
Neal said she also enjoys working in the community through her various businesses.

Neal is also the main sponsor for the Miss Juneteenth East Texas Pageant in Tyler through her organization called Visions of Beauty and Excellence. She has sponsored the pageant for the last two year and will do so again in 2024.
Neal’s other business CPRwithJOY offers certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Patient Advice and Liaison Service and Heartsaver classes through the American Heart Association and has offices in Tyler, Longview, and Sulphur Springs.
“Our CPR company can also travel to corporate offices, doctor offices, clinics or dental offices to do group classes,” Neal said. “I have a great team of instructors including Gwendolyn Young in Sulphur Springs, Rudolph Sheffield in Longview, and DeKalen Goodson in Tyler.”
“Combined we have a total of close to 60 years of experience in the medical field,” she added.
The three week CNA training through Pure Excellence Training Academy costs $750 with payment options for students.
Neal said the goal of the business is to be an educational destination for those wanting to step into the medical field.
“Our goal is to be the educational destination and stepping stone for those wanting to enter the medical field,” she said. “We plan to do this one heartbeat at a time.”
