ET Football: Gilmer, Beckville, Ore City, Harleton earn wins

- The Gilmer Buckeyes closed out the non-district portion of the schedule with an 82-62 win over Prosper Walnut Grove on Friday.
GILMER 82, W. GROVE 62: GILMER – Will Henderson rushed for 262 yards and four touchdowns, Cadon Tennison had a hand in five scores for the Buckeyes and Gilmer earned an 82-62 non-district win over Prosper Walnut Grove on Friday at Jeff Traylor Stadium.
Gilmer moves to 3-2 with the win. The Buckeyes are idle this week and will host Pleasant Grove on Oct. 6 to open district play.

Walnut Grove drops to 1-4 with the loss.
Henderson did his damage on 26 carries, and he also caught two passes for 17 yards.
Tennison completed 15 of 25 passes for 249 yards and four touchdowns and carried 11 times for 82 yards and a TD.
Brendan Webb caught three passes for 61 yards and a TD and rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown. Ta’Erik Tate finished with six catches for 144 yards and three touchdowns and returned a kickoff for a TD, and Dhrvay Smith also scored once on the ground.
The Buckeyes finished with 708 total yards offensively.
T. HIGH 42, HALLSVILLE 7: HALLSVILLE – Javari Johnson rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries, leading the Texas High Tigers to a 42-7 win over the Hallsville Bobcats in the District 8-5A Division II opener for both teams on Friday at Bobcat Stadium.

Hallsville’s lone score came early and cut the deficit to 13-7. Ethan Miller tossed the ball to a receiver, who then threw it back to Miller and the Hallsville QB raced 75 yards for a touchdown.
Hallsville drops to 1-4 with the loss and will visit Marshall on Friday. Texas high (5-0) will host Mount Pleasant.
P. GROVE 45, PARIS 0: TEXARKANA – Ahkari Johnson passed for 194 yards and two touchdowns, and Pleasant Grove piled up 481 total yards while the defense pitched a shutout on the way to a 45-0 non-district win over Paris.
Johnson completed 11 of 17 passes for 194 yards and also rushed for 69 yards and a TD for the Hawks (5-0). Nick Bell carried 15 times for 93 yards and two touchdowns, and Jordan Patterson also rushed for a TD.
Lance Jackson caught two passes for 75 yards and a touchdown, and Jaylen Boardley hauled in a TD pass.
Noah Sexson led the Hawks on defense with 13 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery.
The Hawks are idle this coming week and will visit Gilmer on Oct. 6 to open district play.
BECKVILLE 69, B. SANDY 14: BIG SANDY – J’Koby Williams scored on offense, defense and special teams, leading the Beckville Bearcats to a 69-14 win over the Big Sandy Wildcats in the District 10-2A Division I opener for both teams.
Williams completed 4 of 8 passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns and carried seven times for 110 yards and a TD on offense. He had two punt returns for 82 yards, including one for 61 yards and a TD, and in 15 snaps on defense he had one tackle for loss, a 55-yard fumble recovery for a TD and an interception.
Jorden Prince returned a kickoff 87 yards for a TD. Will Bogs rushed for 69 yards and a TD. Lawson Swank and Grayson Hicks rushed for touchdowns, and Aiden Harris, JT Smith and Austin Berry all caught TD passes.
Calan Castles had 17 tackles and a fumble recovery defensively for the Bearcats. Aiden Harris added 12 tackles and an interception. Tyson Oden and Baker Seegers also intercepted passes, and Kenyon Lusk recovered a fumble.
O. CITY 40, U. GROVE 29: UNION GROVE – Angel Velasquez rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown, Gage Cavanaugh rushed for two touchdowns and passed for one TD and the Ore City Rebels opened District 10-2A Division I play with a 40-29 win over the Union Grove Lions.
Ore City moves to 2-2 on the year. Union Grove drops to 4-1.
Aydin Thomas rushed for one TD, and Cudder Reynolds caught a TD pass for the Rebels. Blake Coppedge had four tackles, a tackle for loss and four pass breakups. Cavanaugh finished with seven tackles, and Kol Peeler had six tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.
Jace Roberts passed for 87 yards and a touchdown and carried 23 times for 145 yards and three TDs in the loss for Union Grove. Will Wilson had three catches for 39 yards and a TD.
Carter Cooper finished with 14 tackles in the loss for the Lions.
Ore City will host Big Sandy and Union Grove visits Frankston on Friday.
HARLETON 50, FRANKSTON 27: HARLETON – Gage Shirts rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries, and the Harleton Wildcats improved to 4-1 on the season with a 50-27 win over the Frankston Indians.
Frankston drops to 3-2 with the loss.
Carson Wallace passed for 73 yards and a touchdown, hitting Cameron Johnson on a 55-yard scoring strike.
Draven Ring, Tyler Lowe and Izayah Farris all scored rushing touchdowns for the Wildcats, who are idle this week and will visit Union Grove on Oct. 6.
LEGACY 34, MESQUITE 14: TYLER – Luke Wolf rushed for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns and passed for 191 yards and another score as Tyler Legacy earned a 34-14 win over Mesquite at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.
Wolf scored on runs of 17 and 74 yards and tossed a 61-yard TD pass to John Price. Legacy held a slim 10-7 lead at halftime before outscoring the Skeeters 21-7 in the third period.
Kalan Greenhouse added 126 yards and a touchdown on the ground for the Raiders. John Price Rainer caught a 61-yard TD pass from Wolf, and August Williford kicked field goals of 20 and 35 yards.
