Tyler is in full bloom.

One of the city’s biggest tourist attractions is set to officially open this weekend, but locals don’t even have to wait until then to enjoy the Azalea & Spring Flower Trail. The trail’s 10 miles of azaleas, tulips, wisteria, dogwood and more are already brightening up the historic brick streets of Tyler.

The annual spring event has been described as a “floral wonderland and a photographer’s paradise,” according to Visit Tyler. It takes place in March and April each year.

The trail officially kicks off Friday and will last through April 9, when the blooms are at their peak. A ribbon cutting will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Pyron Gardens, 212 West Dobbs, to celebrate the kickoff.
