On Thursday afternoon, 58 seniors from Arp High School walked the stage at Clark Wayne Roberts Auditorium with an accomplishment of $241,750 in scholarship money earned for this year’s graduating class.
Both Allen James Arrington, salutatorian of Arp High School and valedictorian Ashley Lopez gave their thanks to family and teachers who shaped them and their classmates to what they are today.
“Our high school journey is coming to an end, however this is just an ending to one chapter of our lives. Throughout this journey we have made friends, memories and new relationships that we will cherish for years to come,” Lopez said. “After today we will turn the page to the next chapter of our lives, we all have different paths that God has uniquely created for each of us. For every path you take, continue working hard to achieve the new goals you will set for yourselves, these next years are for you to grow as an individual and become the best version of yourself that you can be.”
Lopez continued to inspire the graduating class and emphasized the gratitude toward the staff of Arp ISD.
The graduating class saw 40% of students graduate with honors or high honors, 47% that will pursue a college degree and the class consisted of a total of 12 National Honor Society members.
