Police on Tuesday evening work the scene after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed on Troup Highway in Tyler. 

A pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday evening on Troup Highway in Tyler.

Police responded at 6:09 p.m. to the call in the 1700 block of Troup Highway near Green Acres Shopping Center, according to TylerPaper news partner CBS19.

Witnesses said the pedestrian left Fuzzy’s Taco Shop and tried to cross the road when he was hit by a vehicle.

Police were on the scene where northbound traffic was reduced to one lane.
