Overton ISD

Overton ISD went into a brief 45-minute lockdown Thursday morning when an unauthorized person was seen on campus, Superintendent Stephen DuBose said.

The lockdown began shortly before 9 a.m. and was lifted around 9:45 a.m. once Overton PD and Overton ISD administrators determined that the person was no longer in the area, DuBose said.

“OISD will always take extreme caution when it comes to protecting our students and staff,” DuBose said in a statement. “While no one was in danger in this incident, the lockdown was ordered in an abundance of precaution until the situation could be sorted out.”
