EMBARRASSED TO BE A TEXAS REPUBLICAN
I’m embarrassed to tell people that I am a Republican from the State of Texas. First our attorney general, Ken Paxton, sees three or four other states telling them they don’t know how to run their business. Then our representative, Louie Gohmert, sues the vice president of the United States telling him how to tend to his business. Then we have our senator, Ted Cruz, who after seeing all the free publicity the other two are getting, decides to jump in to see if he can benefit in some way. If these elected officials have nothing better to do than make frivolous claims, why do we need them?

REVIVE SPIRIT OF
WORLD WAR II UNITY
Allow me to reminisce a bit. I had this privilege of growing up in Dallas, Texas, in the 1940s. Children often walked a mile or so to school. They respected their teachers, and then came home to moms cooking supper and dads returning home from their work. We played ball and rode bikes in the neighborhood until it began to dark to see, Sundays found more families attending various churches. It was a pleasant time although the nation was in world war.
A lot has changed since then; has it all been progress? Where is the guidance that children need from two parents, as well as from school and church? What values are we passing to the next generation? Who do we honor? Does life bring personal fulfillment? It can!
World War II united us in trusting in God. The culture, and life style, provided stability and sense of purpose. Let’s aim to revive that spirit again by being a nation under God!
Sincerely,
Barbara Ray
