June 13: Oak Ridge Boys have hit gospel album in 2015

Although the Oak Ridge Boys are best known as a country music group, they are also successful gospel music singers.

The quartet led by Lamar County native Duane Allen performed gospel throughout their careers. 

On this date in 2015, their “Rock of Ages: Hymns and Gospel Favorites” hit No. 8 on the Top Billboard Christian albums chart.
