Anderson County now has over 100 confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

Anderson County Judge Robert Johnston received a notification from the Northeast Texas Public Health District Thursday of eight new cases for a total count of 102.

Also, due to a duplicate count on Wednesday’s total, one COVID-19 case was removed.

Of the 102 cases, Anderson County has 66 recovered patients and 36 active cases.

On Sunday, the Texas Department of Emergency Management and Texas Department of State Health Services will host drive-thru mobile testing at the Anderson County Annex, 703 N Mallard St. in Palestine, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Testing is by appointment only and registration will be open this Saturday either by telephone at 512-883-2400 or online at txcovidtest.org/.

People will be screened if they have the following symptoms: fever or chills, cough (dry or productive), fatigue, body aches, muscle or joint pain, shortness of breath, sore throat, headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, nasal congestion and loss of taste or smell.
