Brookshire’s Grocery Co. extends discounts for senior citizens, emergency service providers

To help those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic, Brookshire Grocery Co. is extending its discount programs for senior citizens and critical and emergency service providers through July 7.

These discounts are in effect across all BGC stores, including Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, Spring Market and Fresh by Brookshire’s.

For seniors, there is a 5% discount for customers age 60 or older with a valid ID. The first two hours of operations is also encouraged to be reserved for senior citizens and critical and emergency service providers.

All emergency first responders (EMS, fire department and law enforcement officers), hospital personnel, and active-duty military (including National Guard and Military Reserve) are offered a 5% daily discount on store brand products.

To receive this, the person must present an active first responder, hospital or military identification or name badge, according to a Brookshire’s news release.



In addition to store brand products, the discount is also available for the following brands, Goldenbrook, Pure Harmony, Top Care, Simply Done, Paws, Tippy Toes, Full Circle, CharKing, Wide Awake Coffee Co., Over the Top, That’s Smart and Culinary Tours, a BGC statement said.

During the nine weeks of the the discount programs, Brookshire’s has been able to save recipients over $7.1 million, according to the company.

“We are grateful to be able to continue to give back to those who are serving on the front lines as well as those who are at high risk,” said Brad Brookshire, chairman and CEO for Brookshire Grocery Co. “As we deal with this pandemic, we will continue to give back to our customers and communities. BGC is committed to making a difference in the communities we serve.”

BGC has waived fees for curbside orders for all customers as well.
