Robert E. Lee’s Chris Woodard coaches from the sidelines during the girl’s soccer game on March 19 in Tyler. Lee won the game 8-2, marking Woodard’s 400th career win. Woodard was named the All-East Texas Coach of the Year.

Sisters Gabrielle and Jacqueline Wiebe joined the Tyler Lee Lady Raiders for their senior season after previously being homeschooled.

The duo both earned superlative honors in District 11-6A for the 2020 girls soccer season.

The team was voted on by the district’s coaches.

Gabrielle was selected as the district’s Most Valuable Player.

Jacqueline scored 14 goals to earn Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors with Rockwall-Heath’s Kaylee Swanner.

Lee head coach Chris Woodard was selected as the Coach of the Year.

Lee was 16-3 this season and 10 in league play, outscoring its district opponents 28-3.

Ariel Hekier, Brooke Heisey, Emma Kennedy, Lexie Thedford and Kyleigh D’Spain all earned first-team honors.

Kelsey Filla, Deanna Zarcone, Alejandra Balderas, Nonnie Foley and Caroline Randall earned second-team honors.

Rockwall-Heath’s Chloe Bys was the Defensive Player of the Year. Teammate Maddie Mueller shared Newcomer of the Year honors with North Mesquite’s Cora Hurst.

Longview’s Colleen Gilliland shared Midfielder of the Year honors with North Mesquite’s Serna Abe.

Rockwall’s Sydney Gober was the Utility Player of the Year and teammate Mickaela Leal was the Goalkeeper of the Year.
