After Cody Mize became superintendent at Mineola ISD on Jan. 24, Miller was then appointed in an interim role by the board trustees.
Miller has been principal since 2016 and assistant superintendent since 2017. He has been an educator for 20 years. He spent 11 years at Quitman ISD as a coach of various sports and director of technology, a year at Chapel Hill ISD as assistant head football coach and five years at Tyler ISD’s Moore Magnet School as assistant principal.
By state law, the district has to wait 21 days before offering Miller a contract.
