It’s fitting the 30th annual East Texas Auto & Cycle Show is on the third weekend each February at the Harvey Convention Center.

After all, in the movie, “The Great Gatsby,” the indelible parties took place on weekends with the 1928 Rolls-Royce taking them everywhere.

This weekend, the same 1928 Rolls Royce from the 1974 movie “The Great Gatsby” starring Robert Redford is on display at the East Texas Auto & Cycle Show.

Today is the last day of the show, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Harvey Convention Center on 2000 W. Front St. in Tyler.

The show features high-end and vintage automobiles and motorcycles as well as the Batmobile. Admission is $10, with children 10 and under admitted free.

Robert Owens, a member of the East Texas Crisis Center Car Show committee, said it’s a great weekend.

“It raises a lot of money for the East Texas Crisis Center and it’s a great event for a lot of us who enjoy the car hobby and share that hobby,” he said. “We raise money for a great cause.”

Owens said the best part of the weekend is seeing old friends and showing off cars, many who you only see once a year.

“We look for classic, vintage and even exotic cars you wont see on a new car lot,” he explained. “The stock rotates every year, you will never see the same cars two years in a row.”

This annual event raises money for the East Texas Crisis Center, a non-profit providing shelter and resources for women and children experiencing domestic violence.

The 2020 Show Feature Cars are owned by Dan and Sandra Hardiman of Tyler (a red 2006 Ford GT with a top speed of 205 miles per hour) and Joe McMurrey (a 2020 yellow Ford GT with a top speed of 217).
