East Texas Filipino-American group hosts annual Christmas party

Members of the local Filipino community came together for the Fil-Am of East Texas Christmas party featuring dinner, dancing and a holiday program last weekend.

Sunday night, the Filipino-American group hosted the party as fundraiser at First Christian Church in Tyler. The event included foods unique to the culture and activities for guests.

The organization’s goal is to showcase the history and cultural heritage of the Filipino-American community with education, charity, religion and cultural programs, and encourage the general welfare of the Filipino-Americans, according to its mission statement.
