The Tyler Fire Department responded to reports of smoke in the kitchen at Peete Elementary School on Monday.

Several engines were sent to investigate around 1:30 p.m. 

Tyler Independent School District Director of Communications Jennifer Hines said students and staff were moved away from the area, and no one was in danger. Normal activity resumed shortly after.
