A Wills Point man pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to child pornography violations.

James Joseph Veeser, 58, received child pornography via the Internet and a computer, including three pornographic videos, from January 2016 to January 2019, according to information presented in court.

Veeser faces a minimum of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison. Sentence hearings will be scheduled after a presentence investigation by the U.S. Probation Office, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release.

The case is being investigated by the FBI and Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan R. Jackson prosecuted it.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, which is a national initiative fighting child sexual exploitation and abuse since 2006. Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to find and prosecute people who exploit children online and identify and rescue victims, the release stated.
