Half Price Books celebrates National Literacy Month by supporting Literacy Council of Tyler

Half Price Books is celebrating National Literacy Month throughout September by partnering with the Literacy Council of Tyler to promote adult literacy.
Special signage will be displayed as well as collection boxes, offering shoppers the opportunity to learn more about LCOT programs and to support free adult education by leaving a donation, according to a news release from Half Price Books and Literacy Council of Tyler.

The Tyler store, which is in the Village at Cumberland Park, also hosted a special Literacy Benefit Day on Sunday with 5% of the proceeds benefiting LCOT.
Tyler store manager Joseph Mora said the company’s commitment to literacy can be found in its mission statement: “Be fair to customers and our employees, promote literacy, be kind to the environment, and remain financially viable so we may continue.”
The partnership with LCOT keeps with the company’s tradition of partnering with literacy and environmental groups for more than 47 years, according to the news release.
