A kitten pulling itself above the rim of a birdfeeder just enough to peer into the still water caught Kelli Wood’s eye Sunday.

“She did a good job on the reflection,” the mother said, noting the upside-down kitty in the water, as she and 7-year-old Maddie Wood looked over the human interest category of entries in the 37th annual Texas Bank and Trust Photography Contest and Exhibition.

The mother and daughter, with dad, Matt Wood, next stepped to the “cool kids” entries in the bank lobby. Big sister, Kelsi, 9, had a few entries in that category, one that earned a first place and a second taking honorable mention.
