‘Brick Wall Busting’ topic at East Texas Genealogical Society Saturday meeting

East Texas Genealogical Society’s monthly meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Taylor Auditorium at Tyler Public Library, 201 S. College Ave., and is free and open to the public.
Speaker Patti Todd Gillespie will talk on “Brick Wall Busting Strategies: Hammering at the Wall.”

This is a fun presentation with strategies, sources and a variety of documents that can hammer down your brick wall. Examples of brick walls broken down are demonstrated by using vital records; military records; census, prison and land records; newspapers; passenger manifests; and divorce records, along with a complicated story tracking a woman who changed her name three times in public records.
