It marks the first time the Texans will play in the United Kingdom. The game will be broadcast on NFL Network. Houston’s international game is immediately followed by a bye in Week 10.
Also, the Texans’ schedule features four primetime games, including two at home, and is highlighted by a matchup with the division-rival Indianapolis Colts in Week 12 on Thursday Night Football.
Bill O’Brien kicks off his sixth season as the Texans head coach with a season-opening matchup on the road against the New Orleans Saints on ESPN’s Monday Night Football on Sept. 9. Houston opens on the road for the sixth time in 18 years and will open in primetime for just the third time in franchise history (2002, 2013).
The Texans’ first divisional game will be in Week 2 when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 15 for the first of two matchups. In Week 3, the Texans will travel to face the Los Angeles Chargers as Houston is scheduled to play every AFC West team for the first time since 2016. That matchup is followed by back-to-back homes games against NFC South opponents as the Carolina Panthers will travel to NRG Stadium in Week 4 and the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5. This season marks the fifth time in franchise history and first time since 2015 that Houston will take on each member of the NFC South.
Houston will go on the road for two consecutive road games in Weeks 6-7 as they take on the Kansas City Chiefs and Whitehouse native Patrick Mahomes at Arrowhead Staidumand the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Texans return home in Week 8 to face the Oakland Raiders on Oct. 27.
