UIL Soccer: Palestine gets rematch with San Elizario

The Palestine Wildcats are headed to their fourth UIL state soccer tournament and will be seeking their second state championship.
The Wildcats (32-0-2) will take on San Elizario (15-4-3) in the Class 4A state semifinals at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Birkelbach Field in Georgetown.
San Elizario is a familiar opponent for Palestine as the Eagles edged the Wildcats 1-0 in last year’s state championship, the only loss of the season for the ‘Cats.
The other semifinal game has Comal Canyon Lake (19-5-2) taking on Midlothian Heritage (24-6-1) at 6:30 p.m.
The semifinal winners advance to the state title game, which is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Palestine won a state title in 2016. They also have appeared in the state Final Four in 2007 and 2918.
Wildcat team members include: junior goalkeeper Angel Molina, junior goalkeeper Christian Hutchinson, junior midfielder Jose Sanchez, junior midfielder Abrahan Nunez, sophomore defender Yoriel Reyes, freshman midfielder Diego Farias, senior midfielder Tony Guzman, junior defender Brian Armenta, senior defender Alexis Mendoza, junior midfielder Jonathan Sandres, sophomore midfielder Michael Chaidez, junior midfielder Joel Garcia, freshman midfielder Arturo Nieto, junior defender Michael Guzman, junior midfielder Ricardo Benitez, senior midfielder Daniel Sanchez, junior midfielder Esiel Vigil, senior foward Miguel Alejo, senior midfielder Javier Leonor, junior midfielder Will James, junior defender Jonathan Sanchez, senior forward Riley Harper, junior midfeilder Lizardo Lemus, junior defender Easton Musil, and sophomore midfielder Luis Rangel.
Support staff include: managers Omar Garcia, Emanuel Ibarra and Cristobal Sanchez; and athletic trainer Bethany Coyne. 
John Absalom is the head coach and his assistants are Ernesto Hernandez and Jonathan Ryal.
 
Tournament Info
There is an all-tournament ticket for $30. Coaches’ all-tournament ticket is $25.
Student tickets are $7 and adult tickets are $12. No re-entry is allowed unless an All-Tournament pass is purchased. Adult and student general admission tickets are for a single entry. There will be a 4.16% service fee charge on all credit card purchases.
Parking is $5.
All vehicles must enter at the CR 151/Stadium Drive parking entrance. Entrance will not be permitted at the North Entrance.
The UIL announced using live streaming sites including Facebook Live, Instagram Live, Twitter Live and YouTube Live to stream the games is strictly prohibited. 

The following is a list of prohibited items: alcoholic beverages, controlled substances, tobacco, weapons, literature for distribution, pets/animals, balls of any type, backpacks, skateboards, whistles, outside food/drink, frisbees and vaporing products.
