Smith County officials to consider tax abatement for Homeland Title

A real estate title company is under consideration for tax abatements from the Smith County government.
Homeland Title will be considered for abatements at a meeting of the Smith County Commissioners Court at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Smith County Courthouse Annex building.

The company is planning to build a new headquarters near the intersection of Old Jacksonville Highway and Rice Road. The city of Tyler approved Homeland Title for tax abatements in March.
Additionally, the Commissioners Court will accept funding from the state for a rural water project that will help Sanderson Farms, and hear an annual report on tax abatements.
