Hoop for Autism All-Star Girls Basketball: Troup’s Ty Moon, Grand Saline’s Brooklyn Bolin, Kerens’ Olivia Franson lead South to 74-63 win

- Troup's Ty Moon and Grand Saline's Brooklyn Bolin scored 15 points each in the South's win Saturday night at Union Grove.
UNION GROVE — Troup’s Ty Moon, Grand Saline’s Brooklyn Bolin and Kerens’ Olivia Franson all scored 15 points to lead the South team to a 74-63 victory over the North in the inaugural Hoop for Autism All-Star basketball game Saturday night at the Union Grove Lion Center.
Both teams had jitters early as the North led 8-2 with 39 seconds left in the first quarter.

The game was played with four 10-minute quarters.
Emiy Moore hit a jumper in the final seconds of the opening quarter to cut the North lead to 10-6.
The Texas High duo of Kiasyia Morrison and Antonia Porter helped the North take a 29-24 lead into halftime.
The second half belonged to the South All-Stars as they exploded for 50 points in the final 20 minutes.
After a quick bucket by Pine Tree’s Hydaushia Talley for the North, the South went on a 7-0 run, which was highlighted by a layup and 3-pointer from Bolin. After going scoreless in the first half, Bolin scored all of her points in the second half.
The North led 37-35 late in the third quarter after a layup by Morrison, but the South ended the third quarter on an 18-4 run to lead 53-41 heading into the final quarter.

Moon, Bolin and Franson scored all but two of the points in that 18-4 run for the South.
The North went on a 10-2 run to cut the South lead to 61-60 with 3:52 left in the game, but Bolin went on a personal 7-0 run to put the game away.
Morrison had 26 points and four steals to lead the North. Porter had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Other scorers for the North were Grace Bizzell (Alba-Golden) 8; Mckenze Brown (Longview 7; Talley (Pine Tree) 4; Asia Robertson (White Oak) 3, Mia Wilson (Texas High) 2; and Ashlyn Rogers (Alba-Golden) 2. Liberty-Eylau’s Kyla Colston also played for the North.
Other scorers for the South were Jaycee Cheshire (Hawkins) 10; Jamaria Thomas (Kilgore) 8; Nakia Dunn (Kerens) 4; Emily Moore (Hawkins) 4; and Mattie Tullos (Canton) 3. Canton’s Hannah Manry and Jefferson’s Elaina Langbartels also played for the South.
