ABILENE — Chapel Hill’s Khristion Little, Gilmer’s Jose Sanchez, Brownsboro’s Bobby Posey, Sabine’s BJ Stidham and Elkhart’s Ryan Lindsay all won state titles Saturday at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association state meet.
Brownsboro also won the Division 2 team title.

Little captured the state title in the 242-pound class in Division 2.
Little, who has signed to play football at Southern Arkansas University, finished with a total of 1,700 pounds (720 squat, 365 bench and 615 deadlift).
Sanchez was also a Division 2 state champion, winning the 114-pound class with a total of 1,040 pounds (415 squat, 335 bench, 390 deadlift).
Posey won the 181-pound class in Division 2 with a total of 1,535 pounds (625 squat, 390 bench, 520 deadlift).
Stidham won the 123-pound class in Division 3 with a total of 1,210 pounds (465 squat, 275 bench, 470 deadlift).
Lindsay won the 198-pound class in Division 3 with a total of 1,565 pounds (600 squat, 365 bench, 600 deadlift).

Lufkin’s Carl Williams placed second in the super heavyweight class with a total of 1,875 pounds (725 squat, 450 bench, 700 deadlift).
Hallsville’s Kain Gala placed third in the 123-pound class with a total of 1,095 pounds (435 squat, 290 bench, 370 deadlift).
Lindale’s James Sandifer placed 14th in the 242-pound class with a total of 1,460 pounds (600 squat, 310 bench, 550 deadlift).
Lindale’s Matt Davis placed 14th in the super heavyweight class with a total of 1,660 pounds (715 squat, 360 bench, 585 deadlift).

Lindale’s Ethan Thornton and Nick Gregory; Whitehouse’s Darius Trimble; Pine Tree’s Jayden Smith; and Marshall’s Brevin Randle qualified but didn’t post qualifying totals at the state meet.
DIVISION 2
Brownsboro’s Jesus Berrientos placed second in the 123-pound class with a total of 1,035 pounds (395 squat, 250 bench, 390 deadlift).
Brownsboro’s Harley Sanders placed second in the 165-pound class with a total of 1,325 pounds (530 squat, 355 bench, 440 deadlift).
Brownsboro’s Marcos Molina placed third in the 165-pound class with a total of 1,320 pounds (545 squat, 325 bench, 450 deadlift).
Brownsboro’s Jimmy Orozco placed fourth in the 275-pound class with a total of 1,665 pounds (675 squat, 460 bench, 530 deadlift).
Athens’ Garrett Hayes placed sixth in the 275-pound class with a total of 1,635 pounds (600 squat, 385 bench, 600 deadlift).
Spring Hill’s Vaughn Bufkin placed eighth in the 198-pound class with a total of 1,435 pounds (545 squat, 335 bench, 555 deadlift).
Rusk’s Byron Johnson placed 10th in the 181-pound class with a total of 1,265 pounds (480 squat, 295 bench, 490 deadlift).
DIVISION 3
Troup’s Malik Gilliam placed fourth in the super heavyweight class with a total of 1,660 pounds (750 squat, 380 bench, 530 deadlift).
White Oak’s Patrick Martinez placed fifth in the 198-pound class with a total of 1,490 pounds (575 squat, 315 bench, 600 deadlift).
Malakoff’s Chandler Prnka placed fifth in the 114-pound class with a total of 890 pounds (340 squat, 185 bench, 365 deadlift).
Winnsboro’s Dayce Drennan placed sixth in the 114-pound class with a total of 870 pounds (325 squat, 195 bench, 350 deadlift).
