A 22-year-old Brookshire Grocery Co. employee died Sunday after an industrial accident at the Tyler warehouse.

Authorities are investigating the death of Kaspar Holland, according to a Brookshire’s news release.

“The company wishes to express its deepest condolences to Kaspar’s family,” the news release reads. “As a family-owned company with a long history of operating as an industry leader in workplace safety, BGC has operated warehouse facilities in Tyler for close to 70 years. This is the first on-the-job injury of this severity at one of our warehouses. BGC is fully cooperating with authorities to investigate this incident.”

The company will be offering supportive services to the family and other employees, according to the news release.

Officials with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration confirmed they have opened an investigation, but declined to comment further.

The company’s Care Fund, an emergency assistance program funded by employees and the company, will provide financial assistance to help the family in their time of need.
