WHITEHOUSE — The No. 5-ranked Apache Ladies swept a doubleheader with Blinn on Saturday, stretching the softball squad’s winning streak to 14 games as Maleah Olvera hit three home runs in one game.

Tyler Junior College (23-4) won 13-1 in five innings and 10-2 in six innings, avenging a 9-3 loss to the Lady Bucs on Feb. 22 in Abilene.

 

GAME 1

Olvera, a freshman from Deer Park, was 3 for 3 with three home runs and seven RBIs for the Apaches in the 13-1 victory.

Tamjala Smith had three hits as well, including a double and two RBIs.

Jamzine Dodd contributed a triple with Mackenzye Gregory adding a double. Brecklyn Dennis, Brooke Makemson and Courtnie Heller all had singles.

Heller and Gregory also drove in runs.

Scoring runs were Olvera (3), Dodd (3), Makemson (2), Smith (1), Dennis (1), Helelr (1), Gregory (1) and Destinee Dixon (1).

Dakota Stotyn (7-0) pitched a four-hitter, allowing one run while striking out two.

Maria Garcia had a double and a single for Blinn with Amber Langston and Anna Pisaro adding singles.

Game 2

In the second game, Dennis, Aubree Karraker and Makemson all belted home runs for TJC in the 10-2 win.

Dodd added a double with Olvera and Kaycee Parker contributing singles.

Makemson had four RBIs with Karraker adding three. Dennis, Heller and Olvera each drove in a run.

Scoring runs were Dennis (3), Karraker (2), Dodd (1), Smith (1), Makemson (1), Sloane Johnson (1) and Kaycee Parker (1).

Kimber Cortemelia had a double and single for Blinn with Tori Alvarez-Lopez adding two hits and Courtney Ogle adding one.
