The Randy Rogers Band will headline a lineup of country music acts at the Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival on May 4 in Tyler.
Randy Rogers Band has had six Top 10 studio albums. The band will be performing music from its latest album “Hellbent” set to be released in April.
The album includes “Hell Bent on a Heartache,” a song originally recorded by Guy Clark and serves as inspiration for the title and “Crazy People,” the album’s first single.
“When we play our shows, people expect to have a great night and to go home satisfied,” Rogers said in an earlier news release. “As long as we keep doing that, no change in the industry, no record deal or anything like that can make or break this band.”
Also set to perform at the festival are Wade Bowen, Stoney Larue, American Aquarium and Mike and the Moonpies.
“Top to bottom, I don’t think there’s ever been a Red Dirt lineup we’ve been more excited about. Having these names join our incredible barbecue joints is a huge honor for our sixth festival,” Red Dirt promoter Chase Colston said in a news release.
About 25 barbecue restaurants, including Stanley’s Famous Pit BBQ in Tyler and the Country Tavern in Kilgore, will be serving meats and side dishes at the annual event on the downtown Tyler square.
Tickets cost $110 for VIP, $65 for general admission. VIP and general admission tickets allow patrons to sample the barbecue and attend the concert. Tickets cost $30 for concert-only access.
Children older than 5 will require a ticket to get in.
There is an additional charge for alcoholic drinks and access to a tent that offers craft beers.
Tickets are available on the event’s website, reddirtbbqfest.com. Tickets will not be available at the gate. In previous years, all the tickets to the festival were sold weeks in advance.
A portion of the festival’s proceeds will benefit The Heart of Tyler/Tyler Main Street, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the economic, cultural and historic revitalization of downtown Tyler, and The Boot Campaign, which provides life-improving programs to military families, the announcement said.
