Gorman, Grace, Brook Hill players earn football honors

Eleven players from the Tyler area earned first-team honors on the TAPPS Division II All-District 2 football team, the organization announced.

Voting was by the league’s coaches.

Garnering first-team offense were senior quarterback Jake Smith of Tyler Bishop Gorman, junior offensive linemen Joshua Glenney of Tyler Grace Community and Jere Saranpaa of Bullard Brook Hill, senior running back Uchenna Uduma of Grace Community, senior wide receiver Tyler Hobbs of Gorman, junior wide receiver Alvin Skipworth of Grace Commuity, and senior athlete Braydon Stone, who played QB for Grace.

Top defensive team members were junior defensive lineman Jeremiah Milton of Gorman, senior linebacker Zack Bradford of Gorman, senior defensive back Wesley Tolleson of Grace and junior defensive back Seth Moss of Brook Hill.

There were also a number of second-team members.



Offensive second-teamers were Milton and Brook Hill senior Kirk Jean-Baptiste at running back, Bradford at wide receiver and Grace junior Travis Williams at placekicker and punter, along with Brook Hill senior and Gorman senior Lucas Vega on the offensive line.

On the defensive second team were Brook Hill senior Sam Fetkovich and Saranpaa and Grace junior John David Moore on the line; Brook Hill juniors Nico Flores and Konstantin Krasser, Hobbs and Grace junior Kaden Ramirez at linebacker; and Gorman senior Chase Crumpton in the secondary.

Honorable mention from the area schools were: RB — Flores; WR — Tolleson, Brook Hill senior Garrett Davis; Gorman senior Chris Jones and sophomore Dozie Ifeadi; TE — Grace sophomore Jacob Tucker; ATH — Brook Hill junior Khalan Griffin; OL — Brook Hill senior Peyton Adams, Grace sophomore Aidan Stinson, Williams, Gorman seniors Matt Navarro, Casen Salitore and Peyton Harris; DL — Gorman seniors Vega and Harris, Grace sophomore Brooks Bays; LB — Bishop Gorman junior Isaiah Milton, Grace junior Jacob Pena, Brook Hill junior Jake Shaffer; Bishop Gorman senior Kike Bentancourt and DB — Brook Hill senior Tagen Parma, Grace sophomore Austin Johnson; Gorman senior Chris Jones and junior Emmanuel Milton.
