Memorial services for Frank O. McClendon III, 73, of Tyler, will be held on Monday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church with Rev. David Luckenbach officiating. Mr. McClendon was born Aug. 17, 1945, in Annapolis, Maryland. He passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018. Frank was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. He served as a member of the Order of the Rose and was a charter member of the Centurion Club. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1970 and from St. Mary’s Law School in 1973. Frank was a practicing attorney in Tyler for 45 years specializing in Insurance and Family Law. Frank enjoyed cooking, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. His enthusiasm for life was contagious. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Cdr. Frank Oscar McClendon Jr. and Lorraine Downs McClendon. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 51 years, Leigh McKinney McClendon; his children, Frank Oscar McClendon IV and wife Amy of Plano, Mary Linley McClendon and wife Pepper Harper of Dallas, Charles Leighton McClendon of Dallas; grandchildren, Mitchell, Megan, Kali, and Stone; brother, Kenneth Warren McClendon and wife Melody; sister, Carole Lorraine Souza and husband Jimmy; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Episcopal Church of Tyler, 118 S. Bois d’Arc, Tyler, TX 75702 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
