Five arrested on felony charges in Henderson County

Deputies from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office arrested five people Tuesday, four in a drug raid and a fifth who failed to stop during a traffic stop and led authorities on a chase through four counties eventually ending in Kaufman County.
Deputies executed a search warrant about 12:30 a.m. at a house in the 200 block of Lake Arrowhead in Payne Springs where suspects were believed to be manufacturing and delivering methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s office.
After the execution of the search warrant, Mikel Christopher Kirkpatrick, 47, and Debbie Sue Beasley, 48, both of Mabank, were charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 weighing at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams and tampering with evidence, according to jail records.
Jail records indicate they were held in the Henderson County Jail on bonds totalling $14,500.
Matthew Kristopher Walker, 37 of Trinidad was also charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 weighing at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams, tampering with evidence and he was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for criminal mischief, according to the sheriff’s office.
Walker was being held in the Henderson County jail on bonds totaling $45,000, according to jail records.
Edmund Shane Cranfill, 37, of Eustace was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 weighing less than 1 gram, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies also arrested a man who didn’t stop for them when they attempted to stop for a traffic stop in Seven Points.
The sheriff’s office said Daniel Ray Hayden III, 30, of Athens initially headed their warning and pulled over, but took off in his vehicle when told to step out of the vehicle.
Deputies pursued Hayden through four counties before deputies from the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office were able to deploy a spike strip across a road and stop his vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office said deputies captured Hayden after a foot pursuit.
A search of his vehicle led investigators to a firearm, methamphetamines and items believed to be stolen, according to the sheriff’s office.
He was charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle, evading arrest with previous convictions, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, according to jail records.
The sheriff’s office said Hayden was booked into the Henderson County Jail for those charges and for a warrant out of Kaufman County for burglary of a building and a warrant out of Van Zandt County for theft of property valued at less than $20,000.
Hayden was being held in the Henderson County Jail on bonds totaling $85,000, according to the sheriff’s office.
