While it’s not out of the ordinary to find Donald Trump playing golf at Mar-a-Lago, one might find it highly unusual to see him playing outfield at a baseball game in Lindale.
No, it wasn’t actually the 45th president of the United States on the field, it was one of the Lindale High School baseball players dressed up in his likeness for the team’s inaugural Halloween baseball game, held a day early on Tuesday.

From a whoopee cushion and Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin to a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Moses, there was a unique costume in all parts of the field. Matt Aubuchon was dressed as a squirrel and held a plush acorn in his mouth when he wasn’t playing catcher. Teammates played against one another in this laid-back, friendly matchup, complete with Halloween-themed team names.
Community members were encouraged to attend dressed up in costume as well. There were princesses, Popeyes and Pennywises, the frightening clown that Kannon Smith, 8, pulled off well next to his buddy Tyce Holloway, 7, dressed as Chucky.
Before the game, kids were able to run the bases, take photos with baseball players and trick or treat. There also were various stations around the outside of the baseball diamond where kids could snag some candy during the game. If that wasn’t enough to fuel the sweet tooth, there was a Halloween-themed bake sale with proceeds benefiting the Lindale Eagles baseball team.
