MUSIC: Amy Grant set for concert Saturday at Belcher Center

Amy Grant will perform songs that have made her a favorite among pop and Christian music fans 7 p.m. Saturday at LeTourneau University’s Belcher Center in Longview.
She also will share stories about her life and career and sing some of her favorite Christmas season selections, said information about the concert.

She has sold more than 30 million albums and was one of the first contemporary Christian music stars to find pop music success. Her album “Heart in Motion” spent months on the Billboard Christian music charts and produced her No. 1 pop hit “Baby, Baby.”
Grant’s has won Grammy and Dove awards and is a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
The concert benefits Parenting Today’s Teens, a radio program carried on 2,000 stations, Heartlight ministries and Greggton Rotary Club. Tickets are available at belchercenter.com or by calling 903-233-3080.

Folk singer Tony Ramey opens a new season of acoustic concerts 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Old Firehouse in Edom.
A native of West Virginia, Ramey grew up listening to bluegrass and traditional country music. He is on tour promoting his latest album.

The East Texas Youth Orchestra presents a free concert 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the amphitheater in Bergfeld Park.
