MUSIC: Versatile Texas Tenors perform Saturday in Tyler

The Texas Tenors — John Hagen, Marcus Collins and JC Fisher — will present songs ranging from opera classics to country hits when they perform Saturday in Tyler.

The concert is set for 7:30 p.m. at the University of Texas at Tyler’s Cowan Center.

The Texas Tenors gained recognition during appearances on “America’s Got Talent” in 2009. Concerts, television specials on PBS and albums followed.

NEAL MCCOY & FRIENDS



Longview’s Neal McCoy holds his annual Neal McCoy & Friends concert 7 p.m. Saturday at LeTourneau University’s Belcher Center in Longview. 

The concert raises money for his Angel Network, a charity that helps pay expenses of family’s with long-term medical needs.

McCoy, who was raised in Jacksonville, has had a series of country music hits including “No Doubt About It’ and “Billy’s Got His Beer Goggles On.”

Also performing will be Charley Pride, the country singer best known for his hit “Kiss an Angel Good Morning.”

The Tyler Junior College Jazz Band holds a free concert 7 p.m. Thursday on campus at Wise Auditorium.

The University of Texas at Tyler Jazz Combo holds a free concert 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Braithwaite Recital Hall inside the university’s Cowan Center.
