Services for Kay Mims, 66, of Tyler will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Green officiating. Burial will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery in Whitehouse under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mims passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Tyler. She was born February 6, 1952 in Amarillo to Raymond and Barbara Collins.
Kay was a member of Lake Tyler Baptist Church. She was past district and unit president and member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a Tyler area resident for the past thirty years.
Kay was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Pitcock; son, Kenneth Wayne Mims; and sister, Paula Brackeen. She is survived by her loving family including her husband of thirty-nine years, Larry Mims of Tyler; daughters, Tammy Dean Frizzell of Springfield, Missouri, Resha Michelle Benedictos of Seattle, Washington, Katina Kay Brock of Tyler; sons, Michael Larry Mims of Tyler, Ronnie Kayma Gander of the Philippines, Timothy Lynn Mims of Tyler; twenty-five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Stephanie Early of Miami, Texas and Charlene Matthews of Amarillo and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bo Ryan Frizzell, Taylor Mims, Austin Mims, Zackery Matthews, Ricky Matthews and Brandon Pitcock.
Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
