A Requiem Mass for Gordon “Boyd” Stafford, 97, of Flint, TX, formerly of Sun Lakes, Arizona and San Diego, California, will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Flint, with Rev. James Rowland officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Stafford passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 in Carlsbad, CA. He was born February 10, 1921 in Los Angeles to John A. and Gladys Garnet Malone Stafford.

Boyd was a sales manager for Ducommun Metals & Supply Company for 37 years. He graduated from Dorsey High School in 1939. His hobbies included golf and slow pitch baseball. He was an avid sports fan and loved the San Diego Chargers and the San Diego Padres.

Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 67 years, Avalene Marie Salazar Stafford. He is survived by his loving family including sons, Christopher Lee Stafford; Stephen Michael Stafford and wife Gael; Mark Lynn Stafford and wife Ginger; daughters, Carol Marie Kelly and husband Regan; Kathy Ann Stafford and husband David; grandchildren, Colin Henry Stafford, Keirstin Ann Stafford, Kara Elizabeth Stafford, Jesse Lowell Stafford, Sarah Marie Kelly, Kyle Regan Kelly, Conor Michael Kelly, Britt Emily Stafford, Wyatt David Stafford, and Reagan Marie Stafford; greatgrandchildren, Savannah Reese Sandrik, Carson Jay Stafford, and Elliot Gavin Stafford.
