Flint Baptist Church anniversary celebration
Flint Baptist Church will celebrate its 111th anniversary of ministry in the Flint community on Sunday.

On Sunday morning, the 2,500-member church will host the grand opening of a new 1,700-seat worship center. Constructed by Boone & Boone at a cost of $10 million, this 42,000-square-foot complex includes a state-of-the-art worship center, an administrative area and a first-class preschool nursery.
The Smith County Commissioners court has declared Sept. 9, 2018 as “Flint Baptist Church Day,” and the public is invited to attend worship services at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Moms Inc. ministry kickoff
Moms Inc., a ministry of Community Christian Fellowship, will run from September through May. The Moms Inc. Kickoff Potluck Brunch is from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesdays. The group meets weekly for play dates, Mommy and Me events, group outings and a monthly speaker brunch featuring topics mothers face. Child care is provided for those who RSVP by Sunday. Harp and Violin Duo
First Presbyterian Church, 230 W. Rusk St., will host Dallas-based Crimson Duo, harpist Jaymee Haefner and violinist Matt Milewski, at 7 p.m. Thursday, which will being the opening concert of the 2018-2019 Fine Arts Series.
The concert is free and open to the public. Parking is available on the south and east sides of the building with designated handicap parking available in the upper portion of the south lot.
The performers made their New York City debut in 2012. They have performed concerts in Hong Kong, New York City, New Orleans, Atlanta, Colorado and throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Back to Church Sunday
Bethany Word of Life Tabernacle, 6808 Paluxy Drive, Tyler, will host a “2018 Back to Church Sunday” event, at 10 a.m. Sept. 16, in celebration of “National Back to Church Sunday.”
National Back to Church Sunday is the national movement of churches reaching out to their community. The event is designed to encourage the never-churched and de-churched people in the community to come to church to find a community of people who are growing together spiritually, who are applying their faith to everyday challenges and who help and support one another and the community at large.

Summer Celebration
University of Texas at Tyler President Dr. Michael Tidwell will share his testimony at Monday’s Summer Celebration service at The Woods Baptist Church, 4502 University Blvd. Dr. Danny Pickens, the Smith Baptist Association’s director of missions, also will speak. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Pickens was on mission among Syrian refugees in Istanbul, Turkey, earlier this year. Mark Fried and musicians from Forrest Home Baptist Church in Kilgore will share music.
Fall Concert
Central Baptist Church, 116 W. Mount Vernon St. in Mabank, will host a fall concert featuring The Inspirationals Quartet at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10.
Tickets are $10 and the doors open at 5:30 p.m.
