Christian rock band Skillet will stop Aug. 24 in Longview in a 7:30 p.m. performance at LeTourneau University’s Belcher Center.
The Wisconsin quartet consists of husband and wife duo John and Korey Cooper — John as lead vocalist and bassist and Korey on guitar and keyboard; Jen Ledger on drums and vocals; and Seth Morrison on lead guitars.

The group finished its “joy.UNLEASHED” 15-show tour earlier this year with King & Country and is performing solo concerts in various locations around the nation. Skillet’s music has crossed over between Christian and mainstream charts, just as the group itself will perform with secular groups and fellow Christian artists.
Earlier this year, John Cooper told Billboard the band was about halfway through writing its 10th album, with songs that are “very heartfelt, very passionate.”
