“It went well,” Thompson said. “We had a good game on the ground. The young offensive line did a great job of opening holes.”
Ashton Camp hauled in three touchdown receptions — a 15-yarder from Braydon Stone and 60-and 42-yarders from Price Williams. Stone also scored on a 12-yard run.
Uchenna Uduma had two TD runs of 70 yards, while Alvin Skipworth had touchdown dashes of 25 and 10 yards.
Thompson added, “Brooks Bays also had a long, tough run running over several defenders. The starters had 460 yards on 28 plays.”
The second-year Grace coach said the Cougar starting defensive unit held the Indians scoreless.
“It was a great start for the offensive line of juniors and sophomores,” Thompson said. “Frankston scored two times on good runs in the last set of 10 plays. It was a good start to the season but we still have a lot of work to do with the schedule that is before us.”
