Services for Neta P. Adams, 83 of Tyler will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2018 in the chapel of Jackson’s Burks Walker Tippit with Rev. Glenn Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery, visitation will be from 9:30-10 a.m. prior to the service. Neta passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at her residence in Tyler. She was born November 15, 1934 in Davis, Ok to the late Lee and Lois Thomasson. She graduated from Davis High School in 1952 and started working for Southwestern Bell in Ok, at the age of 18, as a switchboard operator and transferred to Tyler with AT&T until her retirement in 1985. After her retirement she enjoyed spending time with family. Neta was a longtime member of Green Acres Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by husband Russell D. Adams in 2013; two sons, David Gilmore and Alan Adams; one brother, Ronnie Thomasson and sister Wilma Hughes. Survivors include Rick Gilmore and wife Janie, Carl Adams and wife Sharon and Larry Gilmore; one daughter Sheryl Weaver and husband Woody; sisters, Glenda Harper, Beverly Pence, Eva Meador and Gail Johnston; nine grandchildren, Josh and Jason Gilmore, Weston and Cullen Adams, Ryan Pumphrey, Kim Wiegman, Heather Rowe, Kathryn Adams and Nicole Johnson; several great grandchildren.
