First Baptist Church of Henderson to host July 29 blood drive

First Baptist Church of Henderson will host a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 29 at 207 W. Main St. in the family life center.

Remember to eat a nutritious meal and drink plenty of water one to two hours before giving blood. All donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, feel well on the day of donation and present a government-issued photo ID each time they give blood.
Potential blood donors may volunteer beginning at age 16 with parental consent; 17-year-olds may give independently and there is no upper age limit for donating blood. For more information on donor eligibility and to make an appointment, call 1-800-366-2834 or visit carterbloodcare.org.
WOMEN’S MISSIONARY SUNDAY
At 10 a.m. on July 29, the Christian Women’s Council at Bethany Word of Life Tabernacle, 6808 Paluxy Drive, in Tyler, will host a Women’s Missionary Sunday program.
Featured guest speaker will be evangelist Madeline Kennedy.
The event is free and open to the public.

New Life Worship Center, 18535 U.S. Highway 69 South, Tyler, will feature Dove and Grammy Award winner David Phelps at 7 p.m. July 29. Phelps, will bring his “Journey of Faith” tour to Tyler.

The Tyler Council of Church Women will meet at 10 a.m. July 30 at Marvin United Methodist Church, 300 W. Erwin St.
An executive board meeting will start at 9:30 a.m., followed at 10 a.m. with fellowship for the entire membership of TCCW and membership meeting.
Please bring baby wipes, bibs, toilet paper, paper towels, construction paper and facial tissues for nurseries.

KID’S CRUSADE
Christ Community Church, 5625 N. Loop 256, Palestine, will host a Kid’s Crusade with pastor Mike Muzzerall and team from Jimmy Swaggart Ministries Aug. 3-5.
This is a family event and all adults and youth are invited.
Services are 6:30 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by outdoor activities (weather permitting); 7 p.m. Saturday; and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

LISTENING FOR “THE WAY FORWARD”
The Conference Committee on Lay Servant Ministries along with the Board of Laity of the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church announce the fourth annual conference-wide laity event from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Aug. 18 at Aldersgate UMC, 3926 Old Denton Road, Carrollton.
This years’ topic is listening for “The Way Forward.”
A special called general conference will be Feb. 23-26 in St. Louis. It will address petitions related to the UMC’s positions on human sexuality. This event will be an opportunity to learn more about the proposed legislation that will be considered by the General Conference.
