GO AND DO: Thousands to descend on Canton for First Monday Trade Days

The First Monday Trades Days, one of the largest vendors markets in the nation, returns to Canton. 

Vendors will be set up during daylight hours through Sunday on the trades grounds located just north of the downtown square. Admission is free. 

Many vendors are located under pavilions near Highway 19.

TYLER MUSEUM OF ART

Two exhibitions are on view at Tyler Museum of Art, 1300 S. Mahon Ave. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

  • “David Bates: Selected Works from Texas Collections” through Sept. 9. Admission: $6 for adults; $4 for seniors.
  • “Rewind: Selections from Private Collections” through Aug. 12. Admission: free.


DISCOVERY SCIENCE PLACE

Discovery Science Place, 308 N. Broadway Ave., is presenting “Return of the Dinosaurs” through Aug. 19. Tickets: $6 for 12 and younger and $8 for 13 and older. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

FARMERS MARKETS

Fresh produce and other goods can be found at three farmers markets every Saturday morning in Tyler.

  • The Rose City Farmers Market: 236 S. Broadway Ave.
  • The East Texas State Fair Farmers Market: the fairgrounds, 2000 W. Front St.
  • Tyler Farmers Market: south parking lot of Broadway Square Mall, 4601 S. Broadway Ave.

TYLER’S POOL, SPRAYGOUNDS

Tyler spraygrounds and pool are open throughout the summer. 

  • Fun Forest Pool and Sprayground, 900 N. Glenwood Blvd. Hours: 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
  • Sprayground at Faulkner Park, 410 W. Cumberland Road. Hours: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

“SHAPE & FORM RELOADED”

“Shape & Form Reloaded,” an exhibition of sculptures and paintings by Jessica Sanders, Cierra McGuckie and Dace Lucia Kidd, is on view at the Martin Walker Law Firm, 121 N. Spring Ave., during business hours.
